Importing Your Bookmarks from IE to Google Chrome

I have been asked quite a few times this year about whether or not it is possible to import your bookmarked websites that are in Internet Explorer into Google Chrome.  Many of you may find it frustrating to feel like you have to go back to Internet Explorer to access the Davis Web Helpdesk or access the library catalog or any of your other favorite websites.  However, there is a quick fix for moving all of your bookmarked items into Google Chrome.  Here's what you do:
1) Open up Google Chrome and go to the top right hand corner and select bookmarks.  Then, select Import bookmarks and settings (see image below).

2) Make sure that the From menu (see below) specifies Microsoft Internet Explorer.

3) Click Import and all of your Internet Explorer bookmarks will be copied into Google Chrome.  To view your bookmarks in Google Chrome, select bookmarks (see below) and then select the folder that says Imported from IE (see below).

With this information you will no longer have to jump back and forth from Internet Explorer to Google Chrome to access your bookmarks.  Happy Tuesday!
